FAQ Ischgl Ski School
 

Roughly speaking, allocation to our degrees of difficulty is based on the degree of difficulty of the slopes. In this system green denotes an absolute beginner, black denotes an expert.

We are open daily: 

Mountain Office - 8.30 am 3.30 pm

Valley Office - 8 am - 12 pm & 2 pm - 5 pm

You can also contact us by phone or by e-mail. 

The meeting point for our courses is always in front of the mountain office of the Ischgl Ski School on Idalpe, 15 minutes prior to course start.

Please also calculate the time for possible idle periods of the cable cars!

Group courses for adults: Sunday to Thursday from 11.15 am - 2.15 pm

Group courses for children: Sunday to Friday from 10.30 am - 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm - 3.30 pm

Group courses for teenagers: Sunday to Friday from 10.30 am - 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm - 3.30 pm

Group courses for snowboard: Sunday to Tuesday or Wednesday to Friday from 10 am - 12.15 pm or 1 pm - 3.15 pm


Private lessons 90 min: 9.30 am - 11.00 am 1.30 pm - 3 pm
Private lessons 180 min: 9.30 am - 12.30 pm or 11.15 am - 2.15 pm
Private lessons 270 min: 9.30 am - 12 pm and 1 pm - 3 pm

No. You have to purchase a ski pass in addition to the ski course.

Yes, because the practice area is located directly in the ski resort.

The best cable cars to use for beginners are the Silvretta or the Fimbabahn cable cars.

We cannot promise that your children will be in the same group. If your children are at the same performance level however, there is usually no problem in signing them up for the same group.

We offer the possibility for children to have lunch with the ski instructor. All the parents need to do is to purchase a meal voucher in the office of the Ischgl Ski School.

The Ski School does not have a rental shop. However, there are plenty of rental shops in the village.

Our instructors are international. They come from Holland, Denmark, France, England and Russia. If you should have wishes regarding the course language, we will try to meet your demands.

No, if you have booked a course, there is no possibility to postpone or cancel the course in case of bad weather or other events. Course cancellations due to weather conditions (force majeure) will not be refunded.

Cancellation policy:
0% - cancellations up to 3 months prior to course start
10% - cancellations up to 14 days prior to course start
35% - cancellations by 4 pm on the day before course start
100% - cancellations after 4 pm on the day before course start

The course card is not transferable; winter sports can result in injuries. No liability is accepted for accidents. Refunds are not granted for events, which are beyond the control of the Ischgl Ski School (e.g. illness, early departure, downtime on the cable cars). No liability for loss of or damage to equipment. The Ischgl Ski School reserves the right to amend prices and programmes. The Terms and Conditions of Business of the Austrian Hotel Association Regulations apply.   

In general yes, if there is an instructor available during the desired time. You will have to pay the difference between the group course fee and the private lesson.

No. Our instructors have a tight time schedule, it is therefore not possible to make up the time if you are late. We therefore ask you to come punctually so you can make the most of every minute.

If you should get injured during the course, you will be refunded the remaining course costs if you present a medical certificate.

There is no right for refund if you get injured outside course times.

No. If you fall ill during the course period, no price refund is possible.

Yes, if you book in due time.

In case of short-notice bookings there might be some waiting times however, especially during peak season. In order to make sure there is an instructor available and to be able to respond to your wishes to the best, we recommend booking early.

The maximum group size is 12 - 14 people. We always try however, also in your interest, to organise groups with approx. 10 people.

Our 

group courses for adults

 (different performance levels) take place from Sunday to Thursday.  We also offer group courses for beginners (ski) from Thursday to Saturday.

 

Group courses for children

 take place from Sunday to Friday. For children we offer only private lessons on Saturdays.

Our 

child-minding facilities

 and the 

Ski Kindergarten

 are closed on Saturdays.

For your private instructors it is only important that you take lessons totalling 4.5 hours. Start times, lunch breaks, etc. can be determined by yourself.

If you have booked a private course (at least 3 hours in the morning), your instructor can pick you up from the hotel on request. Our pick-up service is possible only in Ischgl village centre.
